What does this fault code mean?
On the V60, the brake control module (BCM) has noticed that the electric vacuum pump cannot build up enough vacuum in the system. The fault concerns the vacuum system, and it is most often due to a leak or a damaged pump.
Possible causes
- Leak in the vacuum system
- Damaged vacuum pump
What you can do
- 1Check the fuse and the electrical connection to the vacuum pump
- 2Check the vacuum hoses and their connections for leaks
- 3Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 4Have a workshop replace the vacuum pump if the fault remains
- 5The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the brake booster or vacuum pump yourself; leave this to a workshop
