What does this fault code mean?
On the V60, the module drives the electric vacuum pump through two relays and checks the pump's feedback against the relay states. When the feedback does not match the relay state, the code is set.
Possible causes
- Damaged wiring to the electric vacuum pump
- Damaged relays
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Look for damage in the wiring and connector to the electric vacuum pump and to the relays
- 3Check that the relays work as they should, with diagnostic equipment
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the vacuum pump, relays or brake booster yourself; leave this to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
