Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
On the V60, the brake control module (BCM) has noticed vacuum building up without the electric vacuum pump or the combustion engine being active. This suggests that a vacuum pump relay is stuck in the wrong position.
Possible causes
- Damaged relays for the electric vacuum pump
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Look for damage in the wiring and connector to the electric vacuum pump and to the relays
- 3Check the relays with diagnostic equipment and replace them if needed
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the vacuum pump or relays yourself; leave this to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
