BCM-C102621
VOLVO
BCM-C102621 - ABS Secondary Circuit Overboost Pressure. General Signal Failures. Signal too low
System
Brake Control Module (BCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
On the V60, the brake control module (BCM) has requested a certain pressure build-up in the secondary brake circuit, but the measured pressure does not reach it. This points to a damaged hydraulic pump or an internal fault in the hydraulic system.
Possible causes
- Damaged hydraulic pump
- Internal fault in the hydraulic system
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check the brake pipes and joints running to the module for any damage
- 3Check the hydraulic pump and the hydraulic system with diagnostic equipment
- 4If the fault returns, the brake control module needs replacing by a workshop, and the acceleration sensor and internal sensors must then be calibrated
- 5The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the hydraulic system or pump yourself; leave this to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice4
- ABS does not work or activates suddenly
- Anti-spin function does not work
- Hill descent assist does not work
- Hill start assist does not work
