BCM-C102862 - ABS Primary Circuit Wheel Pressure. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal compare failure
System
Brake Control Module (BCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
On the V60, the module reads the pressure at each wheel using internal sensors. When the pressures in the primary circuit do not agree, the code is set. The fault most often comes from a leak, air or damage in the hydraulic system.
Possible causes
- Leak in the hydraulic system
- Air in the hydraulic system
- Damage in the hydraulic system
- Damaged pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Look for leaks and make sure there are no air bubbles in the brake fluid
- 3Have a workshop look for damage in the hydraulic system and replace the pressure sensor if it is damaged
- 4If the fault returns, the brake control module needs replacing by a workshop, and the acceleration sensor and internal sensors must then be calibrated
- 5The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the hydraulic system or pressure sensors yourself; leave this to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice4
- Hill descent assist does not work
- Hill start assist does not work
- Anti-spin function does not work
- ABS does not work or activates suddenly
