BCM-C107908 - Indirect Tire Pressure Monitoring System. General Failure Information. Bus Signal / Message Failures
System
Brake Control Module (BCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
8 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The BCM estimates the wheel tyre pressures chiefly using signals from the wheel sensors. The fault means that a signal on the car's data network, which the indirect tyre pressure monitoring depends on, is faulty. The cause is therefore most often in another control module rather than in the BCM.
Possible causes
- Faulty signal from another control module that sends data to the BCM over the data network
- Fault in the control module that sends the signal
What you can do
- 1Read codes in the other control modules, as the fault most often comes from a signal sent by another module
- 2Check that all tyres are the correct size and at the correct pressure
- 3Clear the code and road test the car; if the fault remains, have a workshop diagnose the control module sending the signal
- 4The brake system is safety-critical, so do not replace the brake control module for this code; have a workshop diagnose it with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice2
- The tyre pressure monitoring warning lamp or indication shows a fault or no indication
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
What the fault can affect1
- Indirect tyre pressure monitoring (iTPMS) is switched off
