BCM-C107968 - Indirect Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Algorithm Based Failures. Event information
System
Brake Control Module (BCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
8 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) has not been able to complete the calibration of the indirect tyre pressure monitoring during normal driving. The system needs a certain driving pattern to calculate tyre pressure, and the code shows that the calibration is not finished. It is not a physical fault in the module.
Possible causes
- The car has been driven on poor roads
- The car has been driven in a way that is not normal driving, for example with hard manoeuvres
What you can do
- 1Drive the car normally on an even road with good surface for a while so the system has time to calibrate
- 2Check that the tyre pressure is correct and that all tyres are the same type and size
- 3Clear the code and check whether it returns after a few normal drives
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the calibration with diagnostic equipment
- 5The brake system is safety-critical, so do not replace the brake control module for this code; leave the assessment to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice2
- The tyre pressure monitoring indication is missing or shows a fault
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
