Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
8 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) could not calculate the tyre pressure for the indirect tyre pressure monitoring because the road conditions were too poor. The code is set while driving and is mainly for information. It does not point to a fault in the car's systems.
Possible causes
- Poor road conditions, for example rough or uneven road surfaces
What you can do
- 1No action is needed, as the code is informational and often clears when the road surface improves
- 2Clear the code if needed and check whether it returns on a better road
- 3Check that the tyre pressure is correct, as incorrect pressure also affects the system's calculations
- 4The brake system is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out any work on the brake control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- The tyre pressure monitoring indication is missing or shows no indication
