BCM-C111154
VOLVO
BCM-C111154 - AYC sensor. Programming error. Calibration missing
System
Brake Control Module (BCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelXC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
At start-up the brake control module (BCM) checked the stored calibration values for the stability sensors and found that they do not match. The code most often means the sensors have not been calibrated, for example after a software update. The stability systems stay switched off until calibration has been carried out. The code only applies to cars with DSTC.
Possible causes
- Sensors not calibrated
- Code stored during a software download
What you can do
- 1If the code was stored during a software download, clearing it is usually enough
- 2Otherwise have a workshop calibrate the brake control module and the sensors; the car must stand level and nobody should press the brake pedal during the calibration
- 3Read the code status after a while without switching the ignition off; if the status has moved from permanent to intermittent, the fault is currently inactive
- 4If the code keeps a permanent status, have a workshop replace the AYC sensor
- 5The brake system is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out the calibration and any replacement
Symptoms you may notice4
- General warning lamp on
- Traction control does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Anti-skid function does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Traction control, stability control and dynamic stability control (AYC) are disabled
