VOLVO
BCM-C111495 - Inclination sensor. Component malfunction. Incorrect assembly
System
Brake Control Module (BCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelXC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
There are two versions of the AYC sensor, one for two-wheel-drive cars and one for four-wheel-drive cars. The code means the brake control module has found that the wrong version of sensor is fitted to the car. The cause is the fitting or a replacement, not an electrical fault in the sensor. The code only applies to cars with DSTC.
Possible causes
- Wrong AYC sensor fitted
What you can do
- 1Check whether the AYC sensor has been replaced recently, as the wrong sensor is usually fitted during a replacement
- 2Check that the sensor matches the car's drivetrain, that is, two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive
- 3Fit the correct sensor for the car's type, which should be done by a workshop
- 4Verify afterwards by reading the code after a road test
- 5The brake and stability systems are safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out the replacement
Symptoms you may notice4
- General warning lamp on
- Traction control does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Anti-skid function does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Traction control, stability control and dynamic stability control (AYC) are disabled
