BCM-C1B1401 - Sensor Supply Voltage A. General Failure Information. General electrical failure
System
Brake Control Module (BCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsV40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) receives brake pressure information from a pressure sensor built into the hydraulic unit. The code is set when the signal from that sensor is faulty.
Possible causes
- Damaged wire or connection to the sensor
- Brake pedal position sensor has come loose from its connection
- Damaged brake pedal position sensor
What you can do
- 1Check the wiring and connections at the brake pedal position sensor for loose contacts and damage
- 2Make sure the brake pedal position sensor is firmly seated
- 3If the fault only appears now and then, check whether the brake pressure changes during a drive, as this points to an earlier, temporary fault
- 4If the fault returns, a workshop needs to replace the brake control module
- 5The brake system is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out all work on the sensors and the module
Symptoms you may notice3
- Traction and stability warning indication shows a fault or no indication
- Traction control does not work
- Stability function does not work
What the fault can affect2
- Traction control and stability control are switched off
- Dynamic stability control (AYC) is disabled
