Applies to the following models:
1 modelXC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) has not received the signal from the central electronic module (CEM) that contains the vehicle model information. Possible causes
- A brake control module from another vehicle model has been fitted
- A central electronic module from another vehicle model has been fitted
What you can do
- 1Read codes in the central electronic module and troubleshoot them first
- 2Check that the correct brake control module and central electronic module for this vehicle model are fitted
- 3Check the CAN wiring between the brake control module and the central electronic module for breaks, shorts to ground and shorts to supply voltage
- 4Check the connectors on the two modules for contact resistance and oxidation
- 5The brake and stability systems are safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out any work on the modules
