BCM-U030057 - Internal Control Module Software Incompatibility. System Programming Failures. Invalid / Incompatible Software Component
System
Brake Control Module (BCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
8 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The module estimates tyre pressure in the wheels mainly from wheel sensor signals. The code is set when one of the software parts in the brake module does not match the others. The indirect tyre pressure monitoring is then switched off.
Possible causes
- Incorrect or damaged software in the brake control module
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop reprogram the brake control module with the latest software following the workshop procedure
- 2After programming, check that the tyre pressure monitoring indication works and that the code is not set again
- 3The code does not indicate a hardware fault, so do not replace the brake control module before reprogramming it
- 4The brake system is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out all programming and checks
Symptoms you may notice2
- The tyre pressure monitoring indication shows a fault or no indication
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
What the fault can affect1
- Indirect tyre pressure monitoring (iTPMS) is switched off
