What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) has received data from the engine control module (ECM) with an incorrect checksum, as the signal deviates from the expected value. Adaptive cruise control may then work poorly. The fault indicates that the engine management is the cause.
Possible causes
- Fault in the engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read codes in the engine control module and troubleshoot them first
- 2Check that the engine runs normally and that there are no other codes in the engine management
- 3Do not replace the brake control module for this code, as the fault lies in the engine management
- 4The brake system is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out any work on the engine management signal and the brake control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- Adaptive cruise control does not work
