Applies to the following models:

What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) continuously receives information from the airbag system control module on the sensor CAN network and checks its quality. The code is set when the airbag system reports a lower quality level than the brake module accepts. Several stability and cruise control functions may then work poorly or not at all.
Possible causes
- Fault in the airbag system, which sends information of too low quality
What you can do
- 1Read codes in the airbag system and troubleshoot them first, as the fault lies there
- 2This code can only be cleared once the root fault has been corrected and its own code has been cleared
- 3Check that the stability and cruise control functions work after the repair
- 4The airbag and brake systems are safety-critical, so do not work on them yourself and have a workshop carry out all work
Symptoms you may notice5
- Traction control warning lamp lit
- Stability function does not work
- Traction control does not work
- Anti-skid function does not work
- Adaptive cruise control does not work
