What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) monitors its own functions and components with software. The code is set when that software has not started correctly. The fault indicates incorrect software, and it may be temporary if the code does not return after it is cleared.

- Incorrect software in the brake control module
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and read it out again to see whether the fault was temporary
- 2If the code returns, have a workshop reload the software in the brake control module and repeat the troubleshooting with a new clear and read
- 3Check that the warning lamps go out after reprogramming
- 4The brake system is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out all programming and any intervention
