BCM-U300043 - Control Module. System Internal Failures. Special memory failure
System
Brake Control Module (BCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The BCM runs an internal self-check on its own components. The code is set when that check has registered an internal memory fault. The fault can only be detected once the test has started, and it requires the module to be replaced.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the brake control module
What you can do
- 1Replace the brake control module, as the fault lies inside it
- 2After replacement, the accelerometer (IMU) and the internal sensors of the brake module must be calibrated by a workshop
- 3Switch the ignition on and choose to continue the calibration when the system asks
- 4The brake system is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out the replacement and the calibration
Symptoms you may notice5
- ABS warning lamp lit
- Traction control warning lamp lit
- Stability function does not work
- Traction control does not work
- Front monitoring and active safety do not work
What the fault can affect3
- Locking-free brakes and brake force distribution are disabled
- Traction control and stability control are disabled
- Dynamic stability control (AYC) is disabled
