What does this fault code mean?
The BCM runs an internal self-check on its software. The code is set when that function has registered an internal fault, which may be a hardware fault or a software fault. The fault lies in the module and can affect several functions.

- Internal fault in the brake control module
- Internal fault in the software
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the brake system are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Read the codes and troubleshoot them according to the accompanying information with diagnostic equipment
- 3If the fault lies in the software, have a workshop download the latest software to the brake module
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the brake control module and calibrate its internal sensors
- 5The brake system is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out any intervention in the brake control module
