What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) measures the battery voltage and sets the code when it is too high. The fault normally lies in the charging system, and the electronic brake functions may be switched off for as long as the fault remains.
Possible causes
- Fault in the charging system
What you can do
- 1First have a workshop check the central electronic module and the generator with diagnostic equipment
- 2Start the engine and let it idle; the voltage should be normal system voltage
- 3If the voltage is too high, have a workshop check the charging system and the battery
- 4The brake system is safety-critical, so have a workshop carry out any work on the charging system and the brake control module
Symptoms you may notice5
- ABS warning lamp lit
- Brake circuit warning lamp lit
- Traction control warning lamp lit
- Stability function does not work
- Traction control does not work
What the fault can affect3
- Stability control is disabled
- Traction control is disabled
- Dynamic stability control (AYC) is disabled
