What does this fault code mean?
The battery energy control module (BECM) in the plug-in hybrid has registered an internal fault in the control unit for module G, or a disturbance in its communication with the BECM. Each module in the high-voltage battery has its own voltage and temperature sensors. The fault can only be detected while the car runs on electric power or is charging, and it may be intermittent.
Possible causes
- Damage to the high-voltage battery, for example in the module's control unit or its connections
What you can do
- 1Read codes in the battery energy control module and in other affected modules first
- 2Do not clear the code until a workshop has found the cause, as it may return
- 3Avoid charging until the fault has been investigated
- 4High-voltage systems may only be handled by qualified personnel, so never work on the battery yourself
Symptoms you may notice4
- Red symbol and message in the display
- The high-voltage battery charges poorly or not at all
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD are not available
- The combustion engine runs all the time or often
What the fault can affect2
- The high-voltage battery cannot be charged
- Electric drive is not possible
