BECM-C104316 - Hybrid/EV Battery Voltage Sense "C" Circiut Range/Performance. General Electrical Failures. Circuit voltage below threshold
System
Battery Energy Control Module (BECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The battery energy control module (BECM) has registered too low a voltage in the battery cells of cell group C in the high-voltage battery. This can limit how much energy the battery can deliver, and electric drive may be unavailable. The fault is detected while the car runs on electric power or is charging, and it may be temporary or permanent.
Possible causes
- Damage to the high-voltage battery
What you can do
- 1Read codes in the battery energy control module and other affected modules first, and troubleshoot any codes there
- 2Have a workshop with high-voltage qualification read the cell voltages and compare them between the modules
- 3Avoid charging until the fault has been investigated, and let the car cool if it has been hot
- 4High-voltage systems may only be handled by qualified personnel, so never work on the battery yourself
Symptoms you may notice5
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD are switched off or unavailable
- The combustion engine runs more often than normal
- The battery is low or flat
- Charging warning lamp lit
What the fault can affect1
- Electric drive is not possible
