What does this fault code mean?
The BECM has found that the signal from temperature sensor H in the high voltage battery is too low. This is an electrical fault in the sensor circuit. The cause may be in the battery cooling system, in the sensor, or in the wiring between the sensor and the control module.
Possible causes
- Coolant level in the battery cooling loop is too low
- Air in the battery cooling loop
- One of the battery coolant pumps is damaged
- The shut-off valve in the battery cooling is damaged
- The cooling loop is damaged, blocked or leaking
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and road test to check whether it returns
- 2Check that the coolant level in the battery cooling loop is high enough and top up if needed
- 3Look for leaks in the cooling loop, such as damp patches or traces of coolant under the car
- 4Have a workshop check that visible connectors in the cooling system are secure and free from corrosion
- 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensor, the wiring and the cooling
- 6The high voltage system should only be handled by qualified personnel, so have a workshop carry out all work on the battery and other high voltage parts
Symptoms you may notice4
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
- The combustion engine runs more often than normal in HYBRID mode
- Low voltage in the battery or a dead battery
What the fault can affect1
- Electric propulsion is not possible
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
