Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The BECM checks the insulation of the high voltage system continuously and has found an insulation fault at level 1. The fault may be in the manual service disconnect, in the high voltage cables, or in one of the connected high voltage modules, such as the charger or the DC/DC converter.
Possible causes
- The manual service disconnect (MSD) or its base is damaged
- The high voltage cable is damaged
- The Inverter System Controller (ISC) is damaged
- The Air Conditioning Compressor Module (ACCM) is damaged
- The on-board charger (OBC) or the DC/DC converter (DCDC) is damaged
- The high voltage battery is damaged
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and road test to check whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check visible damage to the high voltage cable sheathing, such as chafing or heat marks
- 3Has the car recently been to a workshop or had work done on the high voltage parts?
- 4Have a workshop check the service disconnect, the high voltage cables and the insulation
- 5The high voltage system should only be handled by qualified personnel, so have a workshop carry out all work on the battery and other high voltage parts
Symptoms you may notice1
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
