BECM-C106000 - Hybrid/EV Battery Aux Fuse Blown. General Failure Information. No sub type information
System
Battery Energy Control Module (BECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The BECM has found that the voltage in the circuit feeding the on-board charger (OBC) is too low, even though the contactors for the circuit are closed. The code is stored when a fuse inside the battery has blown, due to a short circuit in the circuit to the charger.
Possible causes
- A different control module on the same high voltage circuit reports a fault
- Short circuit in the connectors or high voltage cables between the battery and the charger
- The On-Board Charger Module (OBC) is damaged
- Blown fuse inside the high voltage battery
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and road test to check whether it returns
- 2First read the fault codes in the on-board charger, as they may show why the circuit was short-circuited
- 3Have a workshop check visible damage to the high voltage cables between the battery and the charger
- 4Have a workshop test the plugs and HV cabling for a short circuit, and remedy as needed
- 5The high voltage system should only be handled by qualified personnel, so have a workshop carry out all work on the battery and other high voltage parts
Symptoms you may notice4
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
- Charging of the high voltage battery stops or works poorly, especially while driving
- The battery may be discharged or charge poorly
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
What the fault can affect2
- Electric propulsion is not possible
- The high voltage battery cannot be charged
