Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The BECM controls the two battery coolant pumps with a variable control signal and monitors them both electrically and by checking the control signal. The fault concerns the control circuit of battery coolant pump B, which shows a high level. Cooling of the battery may be affected.
Possible causes
- Poor contact or oxidation in the connectors
- The control signal cable to pump B is short-circuited to voltage
- Battery coolant pump B is damaged
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and road test to check whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check that the pump connectors are secure and free from corrosion
- 3Have a workshop check the signal cable between the control module and pump B for a short to voltage
- 4Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check pump B
- 5The high voltage system should only be handled by qualified personnel, so have a workshop carry out all work on the battery and other high voltage parts
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
