Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The BECM has received a crash event signal from the supplemental restraint system or the central electronic module (CEM). The code means that one of the incoming signals indicates that a collision has taken place. It is a consequential fault of a fault in the control module that sent the signal.
Possible causes
- An impact signal arrives from the supplemental restraint system (SRS)
- An impact signal arrives from the central electronic module (CEM)
- The fault in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) needs to be investigated
- The fault in the central electronic module (CEM) needs to be investigated
What you can do
- 1Start by reading fault codes in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) and the central electronic module (CEM)
- 2Troubleshoot the control module that sent the signal, since the fault lies there
- 3Do not clear this code until the fault in the sending control module has been remedied
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself, have a workshop carry out the fault finding
- 5The high voltage system should only be handled by qualified personnel, so have a workshop carry out all work on the battery and other high voltage parts
Symptoms you may notice4
- Red warning symbol and message in the display
- Charging of the high voltage battery stops or works poorly, especially while driving
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
- Low voltage in the battery or a dead battery
What the fault can affect2
- Electric propulsion is not possible
- The high voltage battery cannot be charged
