What does this fault code mean?
Both high voltage circuits have their own safety circuit, known as an interlock, which checks that components, cables and connectors are correctly connected. The code is set for safety circuit B, which belongs to the auxiliary circuit (AUX), when the level is too high. The fault may lie in the manual service disconnect, or in damage to the charger or the DC/DC converter.
Possible causes
- The manual service disconnect (MSD) is damaged
- The base for the manual service disconnect (MSD) is damaged
- A plug in the high voltage circuit is damaged
- The interlock circuit is short-circuited to ground
- The on-board charger (OBC) is damaged
- The DC/DC converter (DCDC) is damaged
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and road test to check whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check visible damage to high voltage cables and connectors
- 3Have a workshop check that the manual service disconnect is fully in place and undamaged
- 4Have a workshop check the safety circuit for a short to ground and check the charger and the DC/DC converter
- 5The high voltage system should only be handled by qualified personnel, so have a workshop carry out all work on the battery and other high voltage parts
Symptoms you may notice4
- Red warning symbol and message in the display
- Charging of the high voltage battery stops or works poorly, especially while driving
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
- The combustion engine runs more often than normal in HYBRID mode
What the fault can affect3
- The high voltage battery cannot be charged
- Electric propulsion is not possible
- Electric propulsion is locked first when the gear selector is moved to P, or in the next operating cycle
