BECM-C107300 - Hybrid/EV Battery Current Above Threshold. General Failure Information. No sub type information
System
Battery Energy Control Module (BECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The BECM measures the current in the high voltage circuits. The code is set when current stays above normal for an extended period. A fault in one of the other high voltage modules, or a short in the HV cabling, is most likely behind it.
Possible causes
- Consequential fault: another control module found a fault on one of the high voltage circuits
- Short circuit in plugs between the battery and other HV components
- Short circuit in HV cabling running from the battery to other HV parts
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the on-board charger, the DC/DC converter, the electric rear axle, the generator and the air conditioning compressor, and remedy them first
- 2If a blown fuse fault code is also stored, start the fault finding with that code
- 3Have a workshop check visible damage to the high voltage cable sheathing and connectors
- 4Have a workshop inspect the plugs and HV cabling between the battery and the other units
- 5The high voltage system should only be handled by qualified personnel, so have a workshop carry out all work on the battery and other high voltage parts
Symptoms you may notice4
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
- Charging of the high voltage battery stops or works poorly, especially while driving
- The battery may be discharged or charge poorly
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
What the fault can affect2
- The high voltage battery cannot be charged
- Electric propulsion is not possible
