What does this fault code mean?
The high voltage battery's ability to store energy has dropped so far that the battery is considered worn out and must be replaced. At this point its service life is judged over, since the hybrid functions of the car are then greatly reduced and the cells can be damaged by continued use.
Possible causes
- The high voltage battery is worn out
- Capacity has fallen so far that the battery is considered to be at the end of its service life
What you can do
- 1This code needs no fault tracing, since the battery must be replaced
- 2Have a workshop replace the high voltage battery
- 3The high voltage system should only be handled by qualified personnel, so have a workshop carry out all work on the battery and other high voltage parts
Symptoms you may notice4
- Red warning symbol and message in the display
- Charging of the high voltage battery stops or works poorly
- Drive modes PURE, SAVE and AWD disengage automatically or cannot be selected
- The combustion engine runs more often than normal in HYBRID mode
