Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The BECM checks that the output voltage of the high voltage battery is reasonable by comparing the sum of the voltage in the battery modules with the voltage measured across the contactors. The code may be a consequential fault of a fault in the manual service disconnect or in the battery.
Possible causes
- The manual service disconnect (MSD) sits loose or is unplugged
- The manual service disconnect (MSD) is damaged
- The high voltage battery is damaged
What you can do
- 1Read and note the fault code, clear it and road test to check whether it returns
- 2Start fault tracing with the code for the manual service disconnect, since that fault is often the root cause
- 3Have a workshop check the service disconnect and the high voltage battery
- 4The high voltage system should only be handled by qualified personnel, so have a workshop carry out all work on the battery and other high voltage parts
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
