CCM-0007 - Passenger compartment temperature sensor. Faulty signal
System
Climate Control Module (CCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) gets an unreasonable signal from the passenger compartment temperature sensor, so heating and cooling are regulated from the wrong reading. The fault can come from a defective measuring circuit in the climate control panel or from the sensor itself. The cabin temperature therefore does not match the value you have set.
Possible causes
- Defective measuring circuit in the climate control panel
- Defective passenger compartment temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1With the ignition on, check that the cabin temperature roughly matches the air temperature outside the car
- 2Alternately blow cold and warm air onto the sensor and check that the displayed value changes
- 3Look through the ventilation grille and see whether anything blocks the airflow past the sensor. Take care not to damage the sensor, it sits just inside the grille
- 4Remove any obstruction or dirt that is found
- 5If the sensor is defective, the whole control module must be replaced, since the sensor cannot be replaced separately. Have a workshop do this
- 6If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the sensor value in live data while you affect the sensor and check the value changes
Symptoms you may notice1
- The cabin temperature does not match the value you have set
