CCM-000D
VOLVO
CCM-000D - Recirculation damper motor. Signal too low
System
Climate Control Module (CCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The control module has received too weak a signal from the recirculation damper motor. The damper decides whether air from inside the cabin or from outside is let in, so when the signal is missing the airflow cannot change as it should.
Possible causes
- Signal wire linking the control module to the damper motor shorted to live voltage
- Open circuit in the signal wire linking the control module to the damper motor
- Contact resistance, oxidation or play in the connectors
- Defective damper motor
What you can do
- 1Start the engine, switch on the blower and press the recirculation button. Check that the airflow changes
- 2Check the connectors at the recirculation damper motor and at the neighbouring dampers for loose contacts and corrosion
- 3Check the wiring for chafing and crushed areas
- 4Remedy anything found and clear the fault code
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the signal wire and replace the damper motor if needed
- 6If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the damper position in live data while turning the control and check that it changes smoothly
Symptoms you may notice1
- Air flow problem
