CCM-0010
VOLVO
CCM-0010 - Air distribution damper motor. Signal too low
System
Climate Control Module (CCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
This fault code only applies to cars with manual or standard climate control (MCC/STD). The control module has received too weak the signal from the air distribution damper, which sets whether air goes to the feet, the vents or the defroster. When the signal is missing, the airflow can be wrong.
Possible causes
- Signal wire linking the control module to the damper motor shorted to live voltage
- Open circuit in the signal wire linking the control module to the damper motor
- Contact resistance, oxidation or play in the connectors
- Defective damper motor
What you can do
- 1Start the engine, switch on the blower and change the air distribution on the control. Check that the airflow changes
- 2Check which type of climate control the car has (ECC or MCC/STD) before going further
- 3Check the connector at the air distribution damper motor for loose contacts and corrosion
- 4Check the wiring for chafing and crushed areas
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the signal wire and replace the damper motor if needed
- 6If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the damper position in live data while turning the control and check that it changes smoothly
Symptoms you may notice1
- Air flow problem
