VOLVO
CCM-001A - Blower fan knob. Faulty signal
System
Climate Control Module (CCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The signal from the blower fan control is faulty. This is probably caused by a defective or short-circuited potentiometer in the control. The control module then works from a midpoint value, so the fan may run at the wrong speed.
Possible causes
- Defective potentiometer
- Potentiometer shorted to live voltage or ground
What you can do
- 1Check that the fan control works by changing the speed of the cabin fan
- 2If the fault returns, have a workshop check the control and its connector
- 3If the fault is permanent the CCM unit must be replaced, since the potentiometer cannot be replaced separately. Have a workshop do this
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the fan from the activation function and listen for it to start
Symptoms you may notice1
- Buttons and control knobs on the centre console (climate) do not work, work reduced or work incorrectly
What the fault can affect1
- The control module uses a value equal to half of the fan control's maximum travel
