VOLVO
CCM-001C - Lower switch. Faulty ID
System
Climate Control Module (CCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The control module has registered a switch identity that is not permitted for the car's configuration. The fault is probably because a switch has been replaced with one carrying the wrong identity, or because two switches share the same identity. The control module may then use wrong values for that function.
Possible causes
- Switch replaced with one carrying an incorrect identity
- Defective switch
- Fault in the car's configuration
- Two or more switches with the same identity
What you can do
- 1With the engine running, check that all functions can be activated via the lower switches, and that the LED lights when the function is active
- 2With the ignition on, read off the switch identities and compare them with the marking for each position on the climate panel
- 3If the identity does not match the marking, the switch is probably defective. Have a workshop replace it
- 4Have a workshop check whether the button's function is part of the car's configuration, and if needed fetch the missing function
- 5Clear the fault code and test drive to see whether it returns
- 6If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the button status in live data while you press and release it
Symptoms you may notice1
- Buttons and control knobs on the centre console (climate) do not work, work reduced or work incorrectly
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
