What does this fault code mean?
A function button on the comfort panel has been held in for a long time without being released. This can happen if a button has stuck in the pressed position or was pressed by accident. While the fault is present the control module blocks that button's function, and other buttons may also stop working.
Possible causes
- A function button has jammed in the pressed state
- A function button was held down unintentionally for too long
What you can do
- 1With the ignition on, press each button by hand and check that none sticks or fails to spring back, for example because of dirt or an object
- 2Check that the functions on the climate panel work and that the button lights come on and go out
- 3Clean around the button and remove any object blocking it, then clear the fault code and test drive
- 4If the button does not spring back and dirt or an object is not the cause, have a workshop replace the keypad
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the button status in live data while you press and release it
Symptoms you may notice1
- Buttons and control knobs on the centre console (climate) do not work, work reduced or work incorrectly
What the fault can affect1
- The button's function cannot be activated until the button has returned to its normal position
