Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The control module has registered a signal from an air quality sensor, but the car's configuration says no such sensor should be fitted. It applies to cars with electronic climate control (ECC). The fault is probably caused by a mismatch between the car's configuration and its equipment. While it persists the recirculation is not allowed to close in air quality mode.
Possible causes
- The car is not meant to have an air quality sensor
- Fault in the car's configuration file
What you can do
- 1Check whether the car has an air quality sensor fitted, since that decides whether the fault is real
- 2Have a workshop check the car's configuration. The function must be added by downloading software to the car
- 3Clear the fault code and test drive to see whether it returns
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor air quality in the cabin
What the fault can affect2
- The recirculation is not allowed to close in air quality mode
- No air quality function
