What does this fault code mean?
The control module has registered a problem with the AQS sensor, which talks to it over an internal bus. It applies to cars with electronic climate control (ECC) and an air quality sensor. The fault may be intermittent. While it lasts the air quality function does not work.
Possible causes
- The air quality sensor (AQS) is not working
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and test drive. Check whether it returns over a few drives
- 2Check the connector at the air quality sensor for loose contacts, oxidation and damage
- 3If the fault returns or is permanent, have a workshop replace the air quality sensor
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the sensor value in live data while you affect the sensor and check the value changes
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor air quality in the cabin
