What does this fault code mean?
The control module detects a high level on the relay line for maximum fan speed for a long time while the fan selector is set to full speed. The fault is probably a short to supply voltage in the signal wire or a defective blower fan relay. The fault may be intermittent.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to live voltage
- Defective blower fan relay
What you can do
- 1Turn the blower selector to zero, then start the fan at full speed and check that it runs correctly
- 2If the fan then runs at full speed, the fault is probably intermittent. Check the wiring and the relay connectors for chafing, loose contacts and corrosion
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with live voltage. If it does, have a workshop repair the wire
- 4If the wire is in order, replace the blower fan relay, and check the fan after the repair
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the relay from the activation function and check that the fan or heating starts
