What does this fault code mean?
Permanent fault in the communication from the climate control module to the seat heating module for the right front seat. The fault is present now, so the control module cannot use the seat heater. It can be caused by contact resistance, an open circuit in the supply or signal wire, or a signal wire shorted to ground.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation at the connections
- Open circuit in the power supply to the seat heating module
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Defective right-hand seat heating module
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check the connectors for damage and push them back so they sit firmly
- 2With the ignition on, wait at least three minutes and read off the fault codes. If the status has changed to intermittent, the fault is gone, which points to poor contact
- 3With the ignition on, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with ground (the body)
- 4If the signal and power supply are in order, have a workshop replace the seat heating module
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the seat heater from the activation function and check that the seat gets warm
Symptoms you may notice1
- The front seat heating does not work
