Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C30 Electric (2011–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
The damper motor module for the left temperature has given the climate control module a faulty signal value, which controls how much warm and cold air enters the left side of the cabin. The fault is probably caused by incorrect calibration after a loss of power, or by an internal fault in the module.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the left temperature damper motor module
- Incorrect calibration after a loss of power
What you can do
- 1After a loss of power, for example when the battery has been changed, the damper may be out of calibration. Clear the fault code and test drive to see whether it returns
- 2With the engine running, change the left temperature setting and check that the air on the left side changes temperature
- 3If the fault returns or is permanent, have a workshop calibrate the damper motor module and replace it if needed
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, follow the damper position in live data while turning the control and check that it changes smoothly
Symptoms you may notice2
- The cabin temperature does not follow the setting
- Air flow problem
