What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module cannot program the correct address to one of the damper motors during initialisation. The motor therefore cannot be identified correctly and is not controlled as it should, which can cause misting on the windows, airflow problems and a temperature that does not match the setting. The fault is caused by an incorrect damper motor being fitted.
Possible causes
- An incorrect damper motor is fitted
What you can do
- 1Has a damper motor been replaced recently? If so, check that the new one is the right type for the car
- 2Check that the damper motor connector is firmly seated
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the damper motors one at a time and check that each motor responds to the activation
- 4Have a workshop run the identification of the damper motor again. If that fails, the motor may need replacing
- 5Clear the code and test drive the car to see whether it returns
Symptoms you may notice4
- Misting on the windows and/or the outside mirrors
- Airflow problem
- The cabin temperature does not match the selected setting
- No recirculation of the air
