What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module has found an fault inside the damper motor module (DMM) for recirculation. The flap bounces when it reaches its end position and does not go to the position the module requests. This can be heard as noise from the blower and make the temperature uneven.
Possible causes
- Fault inside the damper motor module (DMM) for recirculation
What you can do
- 1Listen when you switch recirculation on and off and note whether you hear a click or a bump from the climate control system
- 2Check that the climate control fuses are intact and that the connector is firmly seated
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: follow the recirculation flap position in live data while you switch recirculation on and off. The flap should travel smoothly to its end position
- 4Clear the code and test drive the car with the climate control on to see whether the bounce returns
- 5If the bounce remains, have a workshop replace the recirculation damper motor and calibrate it
Symptoms you may notice3
- Unusual noise from the ventilation blower
- Uneven temperature
- The air conditioning does not work
