CCM-007D
VOLVO
CCM-007D - Evaporator temperature sensor, ECC, MCC. Signal too high. Intermittent fault
System
Climate Control Module (CCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS40 (1996–2004), V40 (1996–2004)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module has received a signal that is too high from the evaporator temperature sensor, the sensor that measures the temperature of the A/C system's evaporator. The fault is intermittent, so it has shown up at some point without being active at the moment. This can make the cooling from the A/C system uneven.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Open circuit in the signal or ground cable
- The signal or ground cable is short-circuited to supply voltage
- Defective evaporator temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the connector to the evaporator temperature sensor is firmly seated and that the contact surfaces are clean
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal and ground cables have no open circuit
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the cables are not live when the ignition is off
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: follow the evaporator temperature in live data while the A/C system is switched on and off, and see whether the value jumps
- 5If the wiring is intact but the fault returns, have a workshop replace the evaporator temperature sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- The cooling from the A/C system is uneven
What the fault can affect1
- The system uses a substitute value for the evaporator temperature
