System
Climate Control Module (CCM)

Applies to the following models:

What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module has received a signal that is too low from the outside temperature sensor on cars with electronic climate control (ECC). The fault is intermittent, meaning it is temporary and not active at the moment. Because the module gets the wrong outside temperature, the cabin temperature may differ from the selected setting.
Possible causes
- The signal cable is short-circuited to ground
- Defective outside temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the connector to the outside temperature sensor is firmly seated and clean
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal cable to the sensor has no contact with ground (the body)
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the outside temperature in live data and check whether the value is reasonable for the surroundings
- 4Clear the code and test drive the car to see whether it returns. An intermittent fault can be hard to reproduce
- 5If the wiring is intact but the fault remains, have a workshop replace the outside temperature sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- The cabin temperature does not match the selected setting
What the fault can affect1
- The system uses the outside temperature that was last stored
