What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) has compared the buttons in the centre console, front and rear, with the identities that should be present according to the vehicle's configuration file. One identity is missing here, so the fault code is set. The fault can be caused by a defective or missing switch, or by an incorrect configuration file.
Possible causes
- Defective switch
- Switch missing
- Damaged or missing switch in the centre console, front or rear
- Incorrect configuration file for the vehicle
What you can do
- 1With the engine running, test one function at a time from the centre console and note which buttons do not respond
- 2Read off and clear the fault code, then road test the car to see whether the code returns
- 3Check the connectors to the centre console buttons for looseness and oxidation, and see whether any button is loose or damaged
- 4With diagnostic equipment, compare each switch identity with the marking for its place in the climate panel. A missing or mismatched identity points to a defective or missing switch
- 5Check that the centre console button functions match the equipment fitted to the vehicle
- 6Have a workshop check the configuration and install new software in the CEM and the climate control module (CCM) where needed
Symptoms you may notice4
- Climate buttons and controls on the centre console work fully or partly incorrectly
- The buttons on the keypad do not work
- The blind spot system (BLIS) is not working
- The front and rear park assist does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The control module falls back to other values when an identity is missing
