VOLVO
CCM-B102E11 - Air Quality Sensor. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to ground
System
Climate Control Module (CCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
7 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) checks the air quality sensor (AQS) and has registered a short to ground on that sensor. The signal then runs straight to ground instead of giving a usable reading, so the control module gets no valid information from the sensor. The fault shows up as poor air quality in the cabin.
Possible causes
- Short to ground in the air quality sensor (AQS)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact, for example the fuse for the climate control module
- 2Road test the car and check the affected functions to see whether the fault is still present
- 3After these checks, read off and clear the fault code and see whether it returns
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the air quality sensor has no contact with ground (the body). Also check that the connector is undamaged and dry
- 5If the wire is intact but the fault remains, replace the air quality sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor air quality in the cabin
