What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) has not received a correct response from the air quality sensor (AQS) over the bus. The sensor may be loose or not connected, or it may be damaged. The fault can show up as temperature control or air conditioning not working.
Possible causes
- The air quality sensor (AQS) is not connected
- Damaged air quality sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the air quality sensor is correctly connected and that the connector is fully seated
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the supply to the sensor is present with the ignition on, and that the ground wire has contact with ground (the body)
- 3If work has recently been done near the sensor, the connector may have come loose, so check it especially carefully
- 4Read off and clear the fault code, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 5Replace the air quality sensor if it is damaged
- 6If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop read the communication with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice1
- Temperature control and air conditioning do not work
