What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) checks the buttons in the bottom row of the keypad. If a button has been held down for too long, leaving its signal stuck at a low level, the fault code is set. The fault is caused by one or more function buttons being stuck in the pressed position, so functions controlled from the keypad cannot be used.
Possible causes
- At least one function button is jammed down
What you can do
- 1Read off and clear the fault code, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses for the affected functions are intact
- 3Feel whether any button in the bottom row is stuck down or feels sticky
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the keypad have no contact with ground (the body)
- 5With diagnostic equipment, follow the status of the bottom-row buttons in live data while you press each one. A button whose status does not change is the likely cause
- 6If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop check or replace the keypad
Symptoms you may notice5
- Spot lamps do not work
- The alarm or sensors cannot be turned off with the button in the centre console
- The front and rear park assist does not work
- The stability function does not work
- Buttons and controls on the centre console for climate work fully or partly incorrectly
