What does this fault code mean?
The climate control module (CCM) checks the buttons in the bottom row of the keypad and has found a button that has no entry in the vehicle configuration file. The fault comes from an incorrect vehicle configuration, which is corrected by programming rather than by replacing a working part.
Possible causes
- The vehicle configuration is incorrect
What you can do
- 1Read off and clear the fault code, then check whether it returns
- 2Check that the connectors to the climate panel are firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 3With diagnostic equipment, read the status of the bottom-row buttons and compare them with the buttons fitted to the climate panel
- 4Check that the bottom-row buttons match the equipment fitted to the vehicle, as a button missing from the configuration causes the fault
- 5Have a workshop load updated software into the CEM, then into the climate control module (CCM), as the fault is corrected by programming
- 6After the repair, check that the climate system works and that the fault code does not return
Symptoms you may notice5
- The lower row of buttons on the climate unit does not work
- Buttons and controls on the centre console for climate work fully or partly incorrectly
- The lane departure warning does not work
